The association

Founded in 2020 and based in Lausanne, Switzerland, the Kernel Media Project is a non-profit organization whose goal is to promote the development of media and digital skills among young people and communities, to offer teaching methods and to set up media production and communication structures.

Our mission

 

Our goal is to strengthen community ties through media projects.


We want to empower individual voices within communities and create a platform for genuine social exchange.

 

We believe that in order to develop media-critical citizens who are engaged in their world, it is essential to allow individuals and communities to carry their own message.

Learn and understand

Give everyone the means to decipher the media world and develop their skills.

 

  • Offer courses and workshops to develop media literacy and communication skills

  • Analyze the mechanisms of communication

  • Develop technical skills adapted to the digital world

  • Inform and educate members about their community and the world

Express yourself

Provide the tools, spaces and support to produce content and speak out.

  • Establish structures for media production and governance

  • Provide production assistance with support from photographers, videographers, writers, proofreaders, editors and performers

  • Create and maintain local press offices and media centers

  • Provide digital platforms and technological resources

Create connections

Promote exchanges, lasting links and collective projects at all levels.

  • Provide secure access to an ideas exchange platform

  • Create an international network of users and contributors

  • Provide a network of sponsors and partners to finance, develop and coordinate projects

MagTuner Trainer — Thomas Zoller

Born in Bludenz, Austria, he is a qualified Cabinet Maker photographer (CEPV) and PR journalist (CRFJ). After working for dimanche.ch, Le Matin, and L'Hebdo, he collaborated with the Haute École Pédagogique (HEP) Vaud as a communications consultant and for the General Directorate of Education (DGEO), notably for the creation of the school library website.

 

At the same time, he taught photography and visual communication at Ceruleum, ESECO, and HEP Vaud. The author of several image analysis courses and his own teaching method for school newspapers.

 

Since 2014, Thomas Zoller has been dedicated to the design of MagTuner as well as various workshops related to the creation of newspapers and magazines.
